Data Privacy Policy
for Visitors to our Website

Thank you for visiting our website. Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. We take the protection of your personal data very seriously, and so we would like you to know which of your data we store, when and how we do so and how we process them. As an enterprise under private law, we are subject to the provisions of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal German Data Protection Act (BDSG). We have taken technical and organisational precautions to ensure that data protection regulations are met, both by ourselves and also by external contractors.

The primary purpose of our website is to provide information, and we have designed the site in such a way that we collect and process no more than a minimum of personal data. It is generally possible to use our website without providing personal data (i.e. without registering your name, surface mail address and email address). Where personal data are collected, we do so whenever possible on the basis of your voluntary consent (e.g. through a contact form). Such data are only passed on to third parties if we have your express consent or if we are under a legal obligation to do so.

Please note that whenever data are transmitted on the internet (including, for instance, through email communication or via the contact form on our website), they may be vulnerable to security breaches, even where transmission is subject to encryption. We cannot therefore guarantee complete protection against third-party access.

Cookies

We reserve the right to use so-called cookies on our website. These are small files which your browser may save to your hard drive automatically when you call up our website and which are necessary, so that our site can be used without experiencing malfunctions. Our cookies do not contain any personal information about you, so that your privacy remains protected. Once you have stopped using our website, you can delete the cookies again via your browser. You also have the option of objecting to the creation of a user profile based on non-personal data.

Server log files

Our website provider automatically saves information to so-called server log files. However, those data are not matched up with any other data sources.

Technical and organisational measures within our company

We have taken extensive technical and organisational precautions to protect any personal data we hold against unauthorised access and/or abuse. Our security policy is regularly reviewed and updated in line with developments in technology, and our workforce are placed under an obligation to comply with data protection regulations.

Information about your personal data, amendment, erasure or blocking of your personal data

You can always receive information from our company about any of your personal data we have stored, and you can also request that we change, block and/or erase those data, unless we are under a legal obligation to store them (e.g. due to mandatory retention periods). If you want us to do any of this, please let us know by email: Datenschutz@bbklanguages.com.
